ModWright Phono Preamplifier
ModWright Instruments was founded in 2000 by Daniel G. Wright. Dan Wright advocates the philosophy that preamplifiers must be tube-based, while power amps require the power, energy, and control of transistor designs to deliver superior musical performance. Dan Wright's "instruments" aren't meant to sound according to specific criteria, but rather to invite relaxed and joyful musical enjoyment for many hours, allowing you to forget about everyday life. |

All ModWright components are developed in-house in Amboy, Washington, and manufactured – predominantly by hand – by a team of experienced and long-serving employees. The aesthetics, feel, and craftsmanship are simply outstanding, underscoring ModWright's claim to be among the best amplifiers in the world. In recent years, ModWright has evolved into a company whose components enjoy a worldwide reputation, as evidenced by numerous "Best Sound of the Show" awards.
The result: The simultaneous presence of fine resolution and musicality is very difficult to put into words.

Dan Wright is a true vinyl enthusiast, and so his goal was to create a true reference phono preamplifier that would not only become his benchmark in terms of musicality, but also a true and universal work tool.
With the PH 150, he seems to have achieved both goals: the sound quality is simply breathtaking. Against the blackest background, the PH 150 impresses with incredible dynamics, coarse and fine resolution, as well as a joy of playing and stage presentation that set standards.
With one MC and one MM input each, three levels of adjustable gain (MM: 52 dB, switchable -6 dB & -12 dB or MC: 72 dB, switchable -6 dB & -12 dB), separate settings for capacitance (MM: 0/ 100/ 220/ 330/ 470/ 690 pF) and impedance (MC: 10/ 50/ 100/ 200/ 500/ 1 kOhm), as well as mono, phase, and mute circuits, it should leave nothing to be desired, providing a perfect home for virtually any system.
The PH 150 utilizes the finest Lundahl input and output transformers, as well as a sophisticated tube circuit (2x6C45, 2x6922) with zero-feedback and a separate power supply. It features balanced and unbalanced outputs.
It's not cheap but it's a dream for those who want to rediscover their LP treasures.
